My Friends,
Tony Romo is an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Cowboys will
undoubtedly franchise him if they can't get him to sign a huge extension.
So what.
I say the Bears should hand Romo an empty offer sheet and tell him to fill in
the blanks. Then let Cliff Stein structure that number so Dallas can't match
it, much like they did when poaching John Tait from the Chiefs. The Bears
finally wind up with a quarterback. Let Jerry Angelo forfeit the two first
round picks. He doesn't know how to use them anyway.
Potential flaw: the Bears wouldn't know how to use Romo, either.
Even so, I like this idea a lot.
