My Friends,
Why do I think the NFL is waiting until the week the Bears
are scheduled to play in New Jersey to announce that Ricky Manning, Jr. has
been suspended for two or three games? Nothing like making him sit when the
Bears are scheduled to face the Giants, Jets and Patriots, right?
This is shaping up to be a lot like the situation in baseball, where players go
to the league office to have their appeals heard while their team is visiting
New York, and the Yankees or Mets get their standard benefit when the player
starts his enforced, unpaid vacation in the Bronx or at Shea.
